University of Southern California School of Education

Adjunct Assistant Professor: Learning Design and Technology (LDT) - Master's Program

Rossier School of Education Faculty Los Angeles, California

The mission of the USC Rossier School of Education is to prepare leaders to achieve educational equity through practice, research and policy. We work to improve learning opportunities and outcomes in urban settings and to address disparities that affect historically marginalized groups. We teach our students to value and respect the cultural context of the communities in which they work and to interrogate the systems of power that shape policies and practices. Through innovative thinking and research, we strive to solve the most intractable educational problems.

USC Rossier School of Education seeks applicants for an adjunct faculty instructor to teach graduate level courses in the Master of Education in Learning Design and Technology. Applicants with doctoral-level training in educational psychology are especially encouraged to apply.  A deep understanding of the principles of instructional design with a particular focus on access and inclusion is required. The ideal candidate will be an equity-oriented professional with a robust understanding of the needs of graduate level students in creating optimized learning and instructional design. The adjunct faculty instructor is responsible for learning and implementing the course curriculum, providing daily/weekly communication to students, offering regularly scheduled office hours, and complying with program-level operations requests, school-level policies, and university-level guidelines. In addition to teaching courses, the candidate will review capstones for alignment with principles of learning and motivation theory, check for alignment between LDT capstones' learning outcomes, learning activities and the assessment plan, and provide student feedback on how to optimize media choices.

Adjunct Faculty: USC reserves the “Adjunct Faculty” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty may teach one class each semester (summer, fall and spring).
