The USC Sol Price School of Public Policy invites applicants for an adjunct faculty position in the area of data and analytics in planning and development processes. The successful candidate should possess a Master’s degree with strong training in planning, real estate or development. The candidate will be able to teach a graduate level methods courses related to one or more of the following areas: Collaboration. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience and excellent teaching evaluations.

PLUS 668: This course considers big data analysis in business, planning, and transportation through its applications in urban social science, and critical discussions about the efficacy and equity surrounding big data, machine learning, and related topics in society. Instructors will engage with technical material through labs using the R Statistical Programming Language and GeoDa spatial analysis software. 

Adjunct instructor responsibilities include delivery of course content, scheduling office hours and being accessible to students as appropriate, and grading. Each instructor is expected to provide students with a syllabus outlining the course goals, schedule and all requirements for the course under the direction of the Department Chair.
