The Master of Communication Management (MCM) program in the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California seeks a qualified Adjunct Lecturer to supplement instruction offered by our full-time faculty, specifically to teach CMGT 542: Business Strategies of Communication Firms. This course focuses on developing and managing communication consultancies and agencies, with an emphasis on creator/influencer marketing agencies. More specific topics include communication agency structures and staffing, revenue models, client management, account planning, talent management, and pitching.

Candidates must have experience as an executive with a national or global communication agency (PR, advertising, etc.) or as an agency founder, with specific experience in influencer and creator marketing communication. Teaching experience in agency administration, communication entrepreneurship, influencer marketing communication, and other fields of applied communication is highly desired.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education: Master in Communication, Public Relations, Business, Management, Entrepreneurship, or related fields.

Minimum Experience: 15 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education: Master in Communication, Public Relations, Business, Management, Entrepreneurship, or related fields.

Preferred Experience: Teaching experience in agency administration, communication entrepreneurship, influencer marketing, marketing communication, strategic and organizational communication, and other fields of applied communication. Demonstrated ability to coach and help students achieve their academic and professional goals. Experience as an executive with a national or global communication agency (PR, advertising, influencer management etc.), or as an agency founder.

USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
