The Master of Communication Management (MCM) program in the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California seeks a qualified Adjunct Lecturer to supplement instruction offered by our full time faculty, specifically to teach one section of CMGT 585: Communication Leadership in the Entertainment Industry during the Fall 2022 semester.

Candidates must have a Bachelor or Master degree Communication, Media Studies, English, Writing, Management, or related fields, plus extensive experience in the media entertainment industry.

Senior executive or producer experience with major Hollywood studios or equivalent agencies is highly desired, with both observation of, participation in and reflection about careers and leadership trajectories in the industry. Decision authority over projects with significant market success (e.g., blockbusters). Demonstrated ability to coach and help students achieve their academic and professional goals. Teaching experience in media entertainment management, marketing communication, and other fields of applied communication is highly desired.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education: Bachelor or Master degree Communication, Media Studies, English, Writing, Management, or related fields.

Minimum Experience: 25 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education: Master degree Communication, Media Studies, English, Writing, Management, or related fields.

Preferred Experience: Senior executive or producer with major Hollywood studios or equivalent agencies, with both observation of, participation in and reflection about careers and leadership trajectories in the industry. Decision authority over projects with significant market success (e.g., blockbusters). Demonstrated ability to coach and help students achieve their academic and professional goals.

USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
