Adjunct Lecturer of Communication-Methodological Fundamentals of Big Data in Communication

The Master of Communication Management (MCM) program in the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California seeks a qualified Adjunct Lecturer to supplement instruction offered by our full-time faculty, specifically to teach one section of CMGT-564, Methodological Fundamentals of Big Data in Communication in spring 2022. This course will focus on analytics in entertainment industries. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Communication, Media Studies, Business, Management, Statistics or related fields, plus substantial industry experience.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education: A Master’s degree in Communication, Media Studies, Business, Management, Statistics or related fields.

Minimum Experience: 12 years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education: A Master’s in Communication, Media Studies, Management, Statistics or related fields.

Preferred Experience: Senior leadership position in research, analytics, insights or related functions with a major Hollywood studio, network or agency. Experienced in establishing above functions, covering film, television, digital, and related marketing and endorsements. Expertise surrounding Big Data’s complexity and nuances regarding how audiences consume content, as well as competitive analysis and predictive strategies. Record of data-driven innovation surrounding social media. Demonstrated ability to coach and help students and young professionals achieve their academic and professional goals.

USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
