Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Full Professor in Alternative Investments (Private Markets)

with Alter Domus scholarship

Duration: 24months contract (1+1 years)

Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Vilnius University is seeking an academic specializing in Alternative Investment / Private Market Accounting to contribute to our rapidly developing curriculum and research agenda. The candidate is expected to contribute to teaching and research. For research, the Faculty expects impactful scholarly output in high-level journals, following the standards of the Academic Journal Guide. On the teaching side, it is expected that the candidate would contribute to teaching intermediate accounting, accounting information systems, accounting of alternative investment subjects, which aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting principles, accounting information systems, and evolving alternative investment accounting practices, covering standards of recognition and disclosure, system design and controls, and innovative financing models, while also addressing ethics, risk management, regulation, and the role of technology in shaping modern accounting and financial decision-making. The successful candidate will be expected to inspire students, advance internationally recognized research, and contribute to the long-term academic excellence and visibility of Vilnius University in this strategically important area.

Expected outcomes:
- Conduct high-quality research aligned with the alternative investment /accounting systems[RS1]   topic and publish in AJG-listed academic journals;

- Teach 180 academic hours per year, related to alternative investment / private markets accounting, intermediate accounting, and similar topics;

- Participate in the Faculty’s activities, including seminars, workshops, and mentoring students.

Minimal requirements for the candidate:

- Doctoral degree in social sciences;

- Applicants should be prepared to relocate to Lithuania as an essential condition of employment;

- For Associate Professor / Full Professor positions - 3 published research articles in finance and/or accounting topics (included Academic Journal Guide journal);

- At least 2-years of experience teaching and/or developing the study contents in English;

- Academic and/or practical experience in accounting.

The following will be considered an advantage:

- Existing publications in Academic Journal Guide 2 and higher-tier journals;

- Academic and/or practical experience in the alternative investment / private markets accounting field.

Salary: Assistant Professor – 1666 EUR / month (after taxes)
Associate Professor - 2089 EUR / month (after taxes)
Full Professor – 2645 EUR / month (after taxes)  

All positions are additionally funded by Alter Domus scholarship: 1593 Eur/month (after taxes).
