Position Description

The Department of Psychology at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor who will examine multiple levels of analysis, such as systemic, contextual, interpersonal, individual and/or neurobiological factors that contribute to children’s social-emotional development, psychopathology, or developmental disability.  Individuals utilizing an integrative perspective in understanding developmental processes, identifying key targets of prevention and intervention, and studying the effects of adversity, social determinants, race/ethnicity, discrimination, or those whose work samples predominantly under-represented or minoritized populations, are encouraged to apply. This position has an anticipated start date of September 16, 2022. Tenure-track or tenured faculty have an annual service period of nine months (Sept 16-June 15). This position will be expected to provide high quality teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting the success of students from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups in academia. The successful candidate is expected to have or develop a record of high-quality publications and a funded research program. Applicants should have the Ph.D. degree, or foreign equivalent, in Psychology or another relevant field by the start of the appointment.


Applications should include separate, detailed research and teaching statements, a curriculum vitae, three references who can be contacted for letters of recommendation, three reprints or preprints, and a diversity statement of no more than 500 words.
