£36914 to £49553 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the academic post of Assistant Professor in Electronic and Computing Engineering at the University of Nottingham within the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. We are seeking exceptional candidates who aspire to be internationally excellent in research and who are committed to teaching and to delivering an exceptional student experience within this leading Department. Candidates should have the expertise to teach in at least two of the areas of Advanced Computing, VLSI, VHDL, Artificial Intelligence at MEng/MSc level. Candidates should have a PhD and post-doctoral academic research experience in an area aligned with one of the Faculty of Engineering’s Research Groups.

The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, which will include lectures, tutorials, and the supervision of project work in electronic and computer engineering. The person appointed will be expected to apply for and obtain external funding to enable development of new and original research. A teaching only appointment may be considered for appropriate candidates. Good communication and organisation skills are also required.

This is a full-time permanent post; however, job share arrangements may be considered.
