Applicants at the intersection between geomorphology and climate change and/or with interests in geohazards or glaciers are particularly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be expected to generate new intellectual understanding and to apply for external funding to enable development of new and independent research. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to teaching at all levels within the School, including the delivery of core undergraduate modules in the area of physical geography. A range of administrative duties to support the operation of the School will also be undertaken.

Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area or equivalent extensive professional/research experience along with teaching experience in the field of geomorphology. It is essential that applicants have a track record of high-quality published research. Experience of laboratory and/or fieldwork experience is desirable.

We positively encourage applications from members of groups who are currently underrepresented in the School, for example women and people from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds. We are also supportive of requests for flexible working and keen to support those with caring responsibilities.
