Position Summary

The School of Packaging (www.packaging.msu.edu) in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University (MSU) is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Professor position.

This is a 100% time fixed-term position with a teaching/research/service (70%/20%/10%) assignment and begins July 2021.

Responsibilities: The individual will be expected to teach packaging machinery and related courses, and conduct research activities.

Moreover, the individual is expected to participate in School of Packaging outreach and governance activities, including industry short courses.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Packaging, Mechanical Engineering

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

a) a doctoral degree in Packaging, Mechanical Engineering or similar; and

b) experience teaching at the University level (teaching assistant experience is counted).

Desired Qualifications

Candidates with engineering backgrounds are highly desirable.
