Position Description

The University of Washington Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences in the School of Medicine is seeking candidates for one full-time faculty position available at the rank of Assistant Professor without tenure (WOT) by reason of funding in the clinician teacher pathway.  Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.  The anticipated start date is July 1, 2022.  Duties include serving as the embedded psychologist within the Nephrology Program at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Ranked #2 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report for 2021-22, our Nephrology Program is among the best pediatric nephrology programs in the country and includes a dialysis program, kidney transplant program, and multiple subspecialty programs. The pediatric psychologist will assume responsibility for overseeing and providing consultation and behavioral health services to Seattle Children’s nephrology patients and will collaborate with nephrology medical and psychosocial teams to deliver care in service of optimal outcomes. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a PhD or foreign equivalent in clinical psychology or a related field.
