Position Summary

The School of Business at Indiana University Kokomo invites applications for a full-time, 10-month Assistant Professor of Accounting position beginning Spring/Fall 2027.

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses.
  • Teach in in-person, hybrid, and online formats.
  • Maintain an active research agenda.
  • Contribute to service activities at the department, school, university, and professional levels.
  • Support the academic mission of the institution.
  • Maintain high academic standards consistent with AACSB accreditation expectations.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • A doctoral degree in accounting or a closely related field.College-level teaching experience.
    • Applicants with a closely related degree should hold CPA certification.
    • ABD candidates will be considered.
  • Evidence of a commitment to a student-focused approach.
  • A demonstrated commitment to excellence in student-centered teaching.
  • A strong commitment to teaching, research, and service.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited university.
  • Teaching awards or other evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Professional accounting or finance work experience.
  • CPA, CMA, or other professional accounting certifications.
  • Record of scholarly publications.
