Position Titles: Instructor and Assistant Professor level positions in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC)

Job Description:

Full time positions are available for outpatient psychiatrists to work within the outpatient psychiatry clinics. These are vibrant and interdisciplinary teams with career opportunities for mentoring, supervision, training, and collaboration in an academic medical center community.

Clinical work will consist mostly of providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and treatments for general psychiatry in person and via telepsychiatry. Psychiatrists focus on med management, but there are opportunities for combined therapy cases as well. The setting requires flexibility, consultative skills, and active collaboration with other providers and team members. Relevant experience includes providing diagnostic psychiatric evaluations and psychopharmacologic and short term psychotherapeutic treatments for a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses. Working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team with strong interpersonal and communication skills is important.

Specialty experience in the following are a bonus but not required

• Treatment-resistant depression
• ECT/ketamine
• Women’s mental health
• Substance use disorders/addiction
• X-number to prescribe buprenorphine
• Clozapine
• LGBT mental health
• Child psychiatry
• CBT/DBT skills

Minimum Educational Requirements:
MD or DO from accredited institution
New York State License
Active DEA License
ABPN Board Certification (for graduating residents/fellows, Board certification within 6 months of start date is acceptable.
