Position Description

The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at The University of Texas at Austin invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The field of aerospace engineering is undergoing a revolutionary transformation with the commercialization and utilization of space, as well as growth in advanced air mobility and sustainable aviation. We seek candidates who hold promise for leading this transformation. Emphasis will be placed on applicants who have a clear vision for contributing to emerging areas of aerospace engineering.

Qualifications

  • PhD in engineering or a related discipline.

  • Ability to create undergraduate and graduate learning environments that address the needs of students from diverse backgrounds, with differing learning styles and abilities.

  • Expectation to develop an externally sponsored research program, mentor graduate students, collaborate with other faculty, and engage in service to the university and the profession.
