WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR 

The Department of History is looking for a colleague with a specialization in teaching history (didactics). Preference is given to a person prepared to hold a position combining teaching and research activities. We offer a stable working environment and significant administrative and professional support in the scholarly and pedagogical work.

 

MAIN JOB CONTENT 

  • Teaching reflective seminars and didactic courses in the Master's programme Teaching History for Secondary Schools. Participation in tripartite and tandem teaching. Possible involvement in teaching specialized historical courses according to one's own research specialization. Teaching load: 3–4 courses per semester. 
  • Theses supervision. 
  • Own research in the field of didactics or specialized history.
  • Preparation of research projects. 
  • Organisation of scholarly workshops and conferences.

 

WE REQUEST 

  • Completed university studies (MA) or postgraduate studies (Ph.D.). 
  • Experience in teaching at secondary (or primary) school. 
  • Ability to give lectures and seminars in Czech and English. 
  • Ability to work independently as a researcher. 
  • Readiness to participate in scholarly and educational projects. 
  • International work experience (scholarships, research internships, participation in projects) is welcome.

The Department of History is one of the founding institutes of the Faculty of Arts at MU. It is one of the leading educational and scholarly institutions in the Czech Republic in the field of history. Its employees are primarily engaged in the study of Central European history, historiography and methodology in historical sciences, as well as of the didactics of history.
