Research Focus:
Statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, translational bioinformatics, or biomedical informatics applied to human genetics and genomics
Leveraging biobanks (Penn Medicine’s 275,000+ patient biobank)
Linking EHR data with genetic/genomic data to understand complex disease
Development of novel analytical methods (computational biology, statistical genetics, machine learning, AI)
Responsibilities:
Establish and run an independent, extramurally funded research lab
Publish in high-impact journals
Collaborate across departments within PSOM and the wider University
Teach and mentor graduate and medical students, participate in graduate groups
Required:
Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D.
Postdoctoral research experience demonstrating strong promise for independent research
Expertise in computational genomics, statistical genetics, or bioinformatics
Preferred/Highly Valued:
Experience with large-scale biobank and EHR data
Track record of publications and external funding potential
