Assistant Teaching Professor - EEOB

The Department of Ecology, Evolution & Organismal Biology (EEOB) seeks an assistant teaching professor. The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in Biology and Environmental Science, including professional development courses, provide or coordinate experiential learning opportunities for undergraduates in Biology, Genetics and Environmental Science, and assist with career planning for the Biology, Genetics, and Environmental Sciences Majors. This is a 9-month position in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the rank of assistant teaching professor.
- Ph.D. or equivalent in ecology, biology, or related fields
- Formal teaching experience in Biology or Genetics and in Ecology or Environmental Science (evidenced by prior teaching experience, and by a teaching statement demonstrating a thoughtful approach and knowledge of issues related to teaching and learning)
- Experience providing or coordinating experiential learning opportunities for undergraduates in Biology, Genetics or Environmental Science (evidenced by prior efforts involving experiential learning)
- Familiarity with Workday
- Familiarity with ISU student interfaces including ADIN, Navigate, CyHire, and AccessPlus
Within the Biological Sciences, studies of ecology, evolution, and organismal biology are essential in understanding the complex relationships of life on Earth.
From the interactions between organisms and their environment to the interrelationships of species; from the diversity of life to the structure of individual organisms, EEOB offers a variety of ways to examine life on our world.
