Subject Area

The position focuses on NMR spectroscopy with specialization in materials chemistry, including:

  • Solid-state NMR for hard and/or soft materials (including colloids)

  • High-resolution NMR in liquids

  • NMR experiments using field gradients (imaging, diffusion studies)

  • Method development and advanced experimental research

  • Materials relevant to sustainable societal development, e.g., batteries and fuel cells


Duties

  • Conduct high-level research and develop an independent research group

  • Supervise doctoral students and contribute to CBH school undergraduate and graduate education

  • Apply for external funding and handle research administration

  • Participate in national infrastructure activities (SwedNMR) and contribute to the WISE program for materials research

  • Collaborate across disciplines and contribute to the development and operation of NMR instrumentation at the department

  • Opportunity to progress towards promotion to associate professor


Eligibility

  • Completed doctoral degree (or equivalent scientific competence)

  • Priority for candidates with maximum 7 years since PhD, with exceptions for special reasons (illness, parental leave, etc.)


Assessment Criteria

Highest Importance:

  • Scientific expertise demonstrated through publications, conferences, research cooperation, peer-review, and other contributions to the scientific community

  • Potential to develop independently as a researcher and teacher within the subject field

Second Highest Importance:

  • Postdoctoral experience at a research environment other than the awarding university

  • Understanding of pedagogical development and teaching potential

  • Awareness of academic leadership, collaboration, diversity, and gender equality

Additional Considerations:

  • Administrative expertise

  • Ability to teach in Swedish (merit for promotion to associate professor)


Terms of Employment

  • Temporary appointment up to 6 years, extendable to 8 years under special circumstances

  • Part of KTH Tenure Track system, with possibility to apply for promotion to tenured associate professor

  • Salary: Monthly pay (individualized)

  • Full-time, 100%
