GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Stuart School of Business (“Stuart”) at the Illinois Institute of Technology (“Illinois Tech”) seeks to hire an Industry Assistant Professor of Business Economics. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline by August 2024 and will have demonstrated potential to excel in the classroom. Ideally, candidates will have experience working in or with industry and/or the public and/or the nonprofit sectors. This includes private sector practitioners and practitioners who have managed or advised public sector clients and programs. Candidates will possess teaching and research skills that are compatible with the needs of public administration and business programs. This position provides opportunities to teach courses in business, public management, economics, program evaluation, and policy analysis. This is a teaching-track position.

Responsibilities include teaching courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, maintaining currency and relevance in one’s discipline including through research, participating in school and university activities, and providing service to the school and the university.

Stuart School of Business is an academic unit of the Illinois Institute of Technology, a private Ph.D.-granting university. Stuart’s student population consists of over 1,000 graduate and undergraduate students. Qualifications

 

Education & Experience
  • The applicant must have a Ph.D. by August 2024 and possess strong teaching skills. It is ideal if the candidate also has practitioner experience.
  • Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline by August 2024 and will have demonstrated potential to excel in the classroom.
