The McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin has an opening with a start date of Fall 2026 for a tenure-track Assistant Professor. Candidates will be considered whose research makes connections to biotechnology and/or materials engineering. Candidates are encouraged to view these areas in the broadest sense in determining whether their application would be a match.

Applicants should have received or expect to receive a doctoral degree in chemical engineering or a related discipline prior to August 2026. Successful candidates are expected to:
Mentor graduate students
Teach diverse undergraduate and graduate student populations
Develop an externally sponsored research program
Collaborate with other faculty from a wide range of backgrounds
Be involved in service to the university and profession
Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a related field is required.
