Assistant Professor of Clinical Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine

Keck School of Medicine Faculty Los Angeles, California

The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. As an employee of USC, you will be a part of a world-class research university and a member of the "Trojan Family," which is comprised of the faculty, students and staff that make the university what it is.

The Department of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine ( is recruiting outstanding faculty for a non-tenure track position focusing on teaching and education. Building on our successful efforts in establishing PhD and Master’s programs focusing on stem cell biology and regenerative medicine at USC, a major goal will be to launch a similar training program for USC undergraduates. At present, 3 undergraduate courses are taught by stem cell faculty. In addition to the undergraduate minor, we are also planning to introduce a program to bring increasing numbers of URM undergraduate students at USC into the stem cell and regenerative medicine fields. The teaching faculty member will fill key gaps in this program, such as teaching of workshops and summer lab courses tailored to these students. The teaching faculty will also expand lecture and lab course offerings within our very successful Master’s program with 35-40 students/year. In particular, we would like to redesign our Tools and Techniques class to have more interactive components, expand our lab classes to provide more independent learning for our students, and augment our course on scientific writing with more faculty to provide writing feedback.
