Position Overview

The School of Economics at UNNC seeks two Assistant Professors in Economics to join a dynamic, research-driven department. The positions focus on Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, or Applied Econometrics, including topics like causal inference, machine learning, program evaluation, and data science.

The successful candidates will:

  • Lead research projects individually or collaboratively

  • Publish in top-ranked peer-reviewed journals

  • Develop and win support for research funding or consultancy projects

  • Deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels

  • Supervise MSc and PhD students

  • Contribute to curriculum development, student recruitment, and academic service


Candidate Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Economics or closely related field completed by start date

  • At least 2 years of higher education teaching and research experience

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage learning, research programs, and resources

  • Experience in delivering teaching within a quality framework
