InstAst Prof Fixed Term
The College of Education at Michigan State University invites applications for a fixed-term position as assistant professor of TESOL in the Department of Teacher Education. This position is full-time appointment on a 9-month basis.
The successful candidate will assume responsibilities in the areas of teaching, research, and program coordination. Major responsibilities include:

Doctorate -Education with focus on TESOL and teache
Instructor-Fixed Term: Must have Master's degree or have been employed as an instructor or equivalent elsewhere.
Assistant Professor-Fixed Term: Must have terminal degree.
An advanced degree in education with a focus on Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Appropriate PK-12 teaching experience and relevant college-level teaching, specifically in TESOL or bi/multilingual education; demonstrated commitment to social justice teacher education; demonstrated commitment to working as part of a team; excellent communication and leadership skills; demonstrated commitment to bi/multilingual students and to meeting the needs of culturally diverse learners; demonstrated commitment to enacting humanizing, antiracist and decolonial pedagogy and practice.
A doctorate degree in a relevant field is preferred, but outstanding candidates with a master's degree and exceptional experience will be considered. Appropriate PK-12 teaching experience and relevant college-level teaching, specifically in TESOL and elementary education; experience working with teaching interns and PK-12 district partners and community organizations; experience guiding masters and doctoral students in curriculum and instruction in elementary teacher education.
