The Department of Education at the UCLA Graduate School of Education & Information is seeking researcher, teacher and practitioner of Laboratory School Research and Education and Social Transformation to serve as Assistant Professor in Residence.

GSE&IS is a vibrant intellectual community with an emphasis on issues of urban education and equity in education. The position involves designing and directing the integration of research and practice at the UCLA Lab School, and helping to lead the design and development of new research initiatives related to the teacher inquiry and other kinds of educational research. The position requires teaching courses in the both the undergraduate and graduate programs of the Department of Education and providing research mentoring for graduate students.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in education and must have experience in both research and administrative activities in Laboratory Schools that engage in research and who engage with public schools. Applicants should have demonstrated expertise in Pre K-6 school research design and reform, and in teaching and learning within a content domain preferably literacy. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in conducting teacher-led research as well as developing partnerships with public schools, and with a focus on social justice, and those with an understanding of and experience in Los Angeles schools and communities.
