Salary: $60,000 (9-month academic year) + potential summer teaching compensation, $5,000 moving allowance, signing bonus
Teach four undergraduate courses per semester in the Linguistics major/minor.
Opportunity to teach in graduate programs.
Appointment comprises 85% teaching and 15% service.
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental service.
Focus on Sociocultural, Anthropological, and Interactional Linguistics (SAIL), with potential bridging to Computational Linguistics.
Courses may include: Language in US Society, Language & Gender, Ethnicity, Race & Language, Language & Social Media, World Language Policies, Language & Culture, or candidate’s area of expertise.
Required:
PhD in Linguistics or closely related field by start of appointment.
Minimum two years of university-level teaching experience.
Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred / Ideal:
Experience with innovative teaching technologies, online and in-person modalities.
Ability to support student internships, practicum, and curriculum development.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
