Teaching and research in International Relations at the Department of Political Science reflect the diversity of the subdiscipline and are theory-driven, informing how students are educated as researchers. You will contribute to teaching and research based on your expertise.
Responsibilities:
Teach in Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Political Science
Conduct research aligned with the Department’s programme, focusing on the themes:
Sustainable Democracy
Conflict and Cooperation in a Changing World
Participate in faculty and interdisciplinary research groups
Undertake administrative and management tasks related to education and research within the Department
You are a strong candidate if you:
Hold a PhD in International Relations
Have proven expertise in Global Political Economy
Preferably have expertise in climate change and European cooperation
Have strong affinity with Political Science and interdisciplinarity
Possess good teaching skills and experience at BA and MA level, including thesis supervision
Have a University Teaching Qualification or are willing to obtain one
Can teach in Dutch within three years of appointment
Have knowledge of qualitative and quantitative social science research methods
Publish within the field and have a clear research vision, including plans for external funding applications
Align with the Political Science research programme
Are a team player
Temporary employment contract of 1 year, with the prospect of an indefinite contract
Salary within scale 11, based on education and relevant work experience (38-hour work week)
8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus
