Material and structural mechanics
The subject of this tenure-track position is advanced characterization and modeling of ecologically, socially, and economically sustainable metallic materials, in particular steel, for improved structural integrity.
Conduct research and teaching, as well as related administration.
Research carried out within the WISE Fellows program, developing a comprehensive international research activity.
Teach and supervise bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD students.
Develop independence as a researcher and gain accreditation for higher eligibility teaching positions (Chapter 4, Section 12a, Swedish Higher Education Ordinance).
Eligible to apply for promotion to associate professor (Chapter 4, Section 12c, Swedish Higher Education Ordinance).
Completion of a doctorate or equivalent scientific competence.
Preference for candidates with qualifications obtained within seven years prior to application deadline.
Other candidates may be considered for special reasons (e.g., illness, parental leave).
Of highest importance:
Scientific expertise, demonstrated via publications, conferences, research cooperation, and other scientific community activities.
Potential to qualify for a higher teaching position, including independent development as a researcher and teacher, and ability to establish, review, and develop the research area.
Of second highest importance:
Postdoctoral experience at a research environment other than the doctoral university, or equivalent experience in industry or other organizations.
Interest in and understanding of pedagogical development within the subject field.
Interest and insights concerning leadership in academia, collaboration with external stakeholders, and awareness of diversity and equal opportunity, with focus on gender equality.

Promotion to Associate Professor:
Section 1.2.4 of KTH’s Appointments Procedure applies.
Ability to teach in Swedish is considered a merit.
