Position Overview

The Department of Mathematics at UT Austin invites applications for professional-track teaching positions. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Teaching undergraduate courses (full-time load: three courses per long semester)

  • Contributing to course coordination, development, and advising as needed

These positions are one-year appointments with potential for renewal. Continued employment depends on enrollment and departmental needs. Successful lecturers and instructors are routinely renewed.


Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences by July 1, 2026 (exceptions may be made for candidates with rare, technical qualifications)

  • Prior university-level teaching experience

  • Commitment to high-quality teaching and strong communication skills

  • Special consideration for candidates with experience in course coordination, development, or advising
