Position Overview
We are looking for an up-and-coming researcher who wants to conduct pioneering research to take up a position as Assistant Professor (Associate Senior Lecturer) in Experimental Cancer Immunotherapy at Lund University, Faculty of Medicine.

Research Context
The past two decades have witnessed a profound transformation in medicine driven by advances in our understanding of the immune system, particularly in oncology and the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. Despite this progress, major challenges remain in improving the efficacy and precision of immunotherapies.
Lund University, its Medical and Technical Faculties, and Skåne University Hospital are undertaking a major strategic investment in this area.
Duties
As Assistant Professor, you will:
- Conduct independent research in collaboration with strong research environments
- Develop teaching expertise, outreach, and collaboration skills
- Learn Swedish
- Participate actively in Faculty of Medicine activities
Research Responsibilities
- Establish an internationally competitive research program
- Focus on tumour microenvironment-targeted therapies
- Work within the L2CancerBridge programme coordinated by CREATE Health
Research May Include
- Development of antibody-based immunotherapies
- Targeting paracrine communication in tumour microenvironment
- Pre-clinical validation using advanced mouse models
- Translational work toward clinical application
Collaboration & Methods
- Collaborate with experimental and computational groups
- Integrate high-dimensional profiling (single-cell and spatial omics)
- Leverage infrastructures such as:
- Lund University Cancer Centre
- SciLifeLab antibody network
- LU-ATMP Centre
- Spatial biology and flow cytometry platforms
Qualifications
Basic Requirement
- Doctoral degree in Experimental Cancer Immunotherapy or related field
Priority
- PhD obtained within the last 7 years (exceptions apply for special circumstances)
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Demonstrate strong research potential and independence
- Have an excellent publication track record
- Have international research experience (outside Sweden)
- Not have received Swedish salary/grant since Dec 31, 2022
- Show teaching competence and pedagogical ability
- Have excellent English communication skills
- Demonstrate motivation to learn Swedish
- Provide a research plan (1,000–1,500 words)that:Demonstrate leadership and collaboration skills
- Is innovative, independent, and feasible
- Complements Lund’s research environment
- Includes collaboration strategies
- Aligns with L2CancerBridge and infrastructure
- Contribute positively to the work environment
Additional Qualifications (Desirable)
- Experience in therapeutic antibody design
- Experience in AI / machine learning / deep learning
- Experience in oncology therapy development
- Current international research position
- Experience securing external funding

Promotion to Senior Lecturer
To qualify for promotion, candidates must:
- Complete pedagogical training (minimum 5 weeks)
- Publish at least 3 peer-reviewed articles (2 during employment)
- Secure external research funding as main applicant
- Supervise at least one PhD student to mid-term review
- Meet Faculty requirements for Associate Professor qualification
