The School of Natural Sciences and the Discipline of Botany are seeking an Assistant Professor in Plant Biodiversity and Conservation. The successful candidate will:
Develop research and teaching programs in plant biodiversity and conservation at national, regional, or global levels
Possess strong field skills; expertise in collection-based science is a plus
Conduct research that informs biodiversity policy and/or practical conservation actions
Use or augment Trinity’s botanical collections (Botanic Garden and Herbarium) in research, teaching, and outreach
Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across MSc and BSc programs including:
MSc Biodiversity and Conservation
MSc Environmental Sciences
MSc Smart and Sustainable Cities
BSc Moderatorships in Botany, Environmental Science, and Environmental Science & Engineering
Opportunity: The position offers potential for future curatorial or directorship roles at the Trinity College Botanic Garden.
Established research and teaching record in plant biodiversity and conservation
Strong publication record appropriate to career stage
Ability to contribute to policy-relevant research and practical conservation initiatives
Experience in engaging with botanical collections is desirable
