The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is a world-renowned academic medical center committed to excellence in clinical care, research, and education. The Department of Neurology provides comprehensive neurological care and serves as a regional referral center for complex neurological conditions.
The General Neurology Division seeks Assistant Professors for the non-tenure clinician track. Candidates will provide high-quality general neurology care and participate in teaching activities across undergraduate and graduate medical education.
Clinical Responsibilities:
Conduct outpatient clinics at HUP, Pennsylvania Hospital, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and affiliated sites
Attend in resident clinics at HUP
Opportunities to develop specialty clinics in areas such as headache medicine, women’s neurology, neuro-otology, neuromuscular disorders, spinal conditions, complications of cancer/cancer therapy, and somatic symptom disorders
Participation in clinical trial recruitment, CME activities, and quality improvement initiatives
Teaching Responsibilities:
Teach medical students, residents, and clinical fellows in outpatient and allied specialty clinics (ENT, pain, internal medicine, family medicine)
Coordinate and schedule speakers/topics for weekly general neurology case conferences and resident lectures
Contribute to the “Case of the Month” series
Opportunities to teach in preclinical Brain and Behavior courses
Research/Scholarship Opportunities:
Participation in divisional specialty conferences
Opportunities for quality improvement and educational scholarship
Development of specialty-focused clinical and teaching programs based on expertise
MD or MD/PhD
Board certified in Neurology
Fellowship training in neuro-otology, behavioral neurology, neuromuscular diseases, or headache medicine is helpful but not required
Broad clinical skills in general neurology
Commitment to academic clinical practice, teaching, and mentorship
Interest in developing specialty-focused clinics or educational programs
