Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track.

Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree.


Teaching Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities may include:

  • Bedside teaching.
  • Oversight of observers, medical students, residents, and fellows in a clinical setting.
  • Formal lecture opportunities within the department.

Clinical Responsibilities

Clinical responsibilities may include:

  • Inpatient service.
  • Outpatient clinic.

Position Overview

We are recruiting board-eligible or board-certified Child Neurologists to facilitate the new Neuroscience Center’s expansion.

The positions offer a blend of:

  • Outpatient clinic in the CHOP satellite locations.
  • Inpatient service at the CHOP Philadelphia Campus.
  • Inpatient service at the Middleman Family Pavilion at the CHOP King of Prussia Campus.

CHOP Neurology satellite outpatient clinics include Pennsylvania-based locations in:

  • Chalfont
  • Abington
  • Lancaster
  • Bryn Mawr
  • King of Prussia

Additional New Jersey-based practice locations include:

  • Voorhees
  • Princeton

We seek child neurologists with broad clinical skills who are interested in a dynamic practice combining clinical excellence with academic and teaching opportunities.


Preferred Areas of Expertise

  • Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology

  • Neonatal Neurology

  • The CHOP Philadelphia Campus is home to a dedicated 24-bed inpatient Neuroscience Unit staffed by an interdisciplinary team with specialized training in pediatric neuroscience.
  • The Neuroscience Unit houses the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and is specially equipped to meet the unique medical and surgical needs of infants, children, and young adults with neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
  • The CHOP Philadelphia Campus also includes:Shared call rotation of 5–6 weeks/weekends per year.
    • Large neonatal intensive care units.
    • Pediatric intensive care units.
    • Cardiac intensive care units.
    • Extensive Emergency Department (ED) and inpatient ward neurology consultation services.

CHOP King of Prussia Hospital

The Pennsylvania-based CHOP satellite locations are situated in the suburbs of Philadelphia.

The CHOP King of Prussia Hospital, which opened in January 2022, is located approximately 45 minutes from the main campus.

The goal of the hospital is to increase patient access to high-quality care provided by CHOP specialists closer to home.

Additional Child Neurologists will support:

  • Expansion of inpatient neurological care.
  • A 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at this community hospital.
