The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania invite applications for multiple Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician-educator track.
We seek outstanding candidates with expertise in epidemiology. Applicants must hold an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. (or equivalent degree). The preferred candidate will be ABNS Board Eligible in Neurosurgery and Pediatric Neurosurgery and have successfully completed a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship.
Education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Formal lecture opportunities within the Department of Neurosurgery.
Comprehensive brain, spine, and peripheral nerve surgery, including but not limited to:
Spinal deformity
Open spinal dysraphism
Congenital spinal disorders
Spasticity
Hydrocephalus
Trauma
Skull base pathologies
Develop collaborative and independent research programs in areas such as:
Neonatal hydrocephalus (post-hemorrhagic and congenital hydrocephalus)
Open spinal dysraphism (particularly fetal myelomeningocele/myeloschisis closure)
Long-term outcomes data in pediatric neurosurgery
Build a translational research portfolio leveraging:
Multi-omics approaches
Phenomics
Artificial Intelligence (AI)–based techniques
Lead and supervise grant preparation, reports, manuscripts, research staff, and postdoctoral fellows.
Evidence of scholarship is required for advancement in the Clinician-Educator track.
