Posting Summary

You will be a faculty member in the Division of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, and serve as an Associate Member of the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Head and Neck Oncology Program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality surgical services for patients with benign and malignant head and neck tumors

  • Participating in the Department CME and clinical program, including the multidisciplinary Head and Neck Oncology Tumor Board

  • Supporting clinical research and educational missions of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and Rutgers Cancer Institute

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate actively in the multidisciplinary Head and Neck Surgery Tumor Board

  • Ensure on-call coverage for Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at RWJBarnabas Monmouth Medical Center (MMC)

  • Foster a responsive inpatient consult service for Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction

  • Practice evidence-based medicine while engaging in quality improvement, outcomes research, and clinical research

  • Supervise and mentor Medical Students, Residents, and Fellows

  • Support recruitment and on-boarding of quality faculty and staff

  • Collaborate with the Chairman and administrative staff to meet division goals

  • Assist in developing the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency program

  • Enhance the division’s national reputation in research and scholarship

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Chairman of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery

  • Ensure adherence to Rutgers compliance standards

  • Participate in complex surgical cases and satellite practice site development

  • Ensure accurate coding and billing of patient encounters

  • Educate patients, family members, and caregivers

  • Train residents according to applicable regulations and requirements


Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Medical Doctor (MD)

Certifications/Licenses:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expertise in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction

  • Strong clinical, teaching, and research skills
