The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of general surgical pathology. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Board certification/eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology or equivalent is required.

Teaching responsibilities may include residents, fellows, and medical students.

Clinical responsibilities may include sign-out in general surgical pathology with a focus on gastrointestinal pathology and genitourinary pathology, coverage of clinical pathology, and frozen sections with primary practice site at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Rotation opportunities and integration with surgical pathology subspecialty groups at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania are also expected. Duties will include case sign-out, frozen section, call coverage, participation in clinical conferences/tumor boards, and teaching of residents and fellows 2-3 months per year, and two weeks of autopsy coverage at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is expected.

The department seeks candidates with an emphasis in gastroenterology and genitourinary pathology.
