Position Overview

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Philosophy, History, or Ethics of Science (broadly construed). The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels

  • Supervise and mentor students

  • Contribute to an inclusive and stimulating learning environment

  • Engage in research in at least one of the areas listed, potentially in relation to specific sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Geoscience, Physics, Medicine, Psychology, Psychiatry)

  • Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and committee work

Additional assets: Competence in History of Philosophy, particularly non-Western Philosophy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching across general and specialized areas of philosophy of science

  • Research and publication in Philosophy, History, or Ethics of Science

  • Supervision of students and mentoring

  • Academic administration, committee work, and quality assurance

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration within the School
