The Department of Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology to begin Fall of academic year 2024-25.
We are seeking a productive scholar whose research will complement existing strengths in the areas of behavior genetics, cognitive aging, mood and anxiety disorders, sexual psychophysiology, and ecological momentary assessment of couples and relationship dynamics. Potential primary research areas include but are not limited to risk for substance use disorders, health psychology/behavioral medicine, minority psychological health and health disparities, eating disorders, positive psychology, and implementation science. Support will be available from the Department as well as existing University resources such as the Biomedical Imaging Center, Center for Aging and Population Sciences, Institute for Mental Health Research, Population Research Center, and St. David’s Center for Health Promotion Research.
Duties include developing an independent sponsored research program, collaborating with other faculty from a wide range of backgrounds, mentoring graduate students, participating in graduate level clinical training through teaching and supervision, teaching undergraduate students, and service to the university and profession.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA and/or PCSAS accredited program, have completed an accredited internship, have a clearly defined and productive research agenda, and demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence. Preferred qualifications include completion of postdoctoral training, a clinical license, the ability to provide clinical training and supervision, and the ability to supervise students in Spanish.
