Description

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), a major pediatric referral center and teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto, is a world-renowned leader in healthcare, research, and teaching. SickKids is a tertiary care facility with over 300 beds, performing more than 6,000 interventional procedures on over 4,000 patients annually.

The Department of Diagnostic Imaging at SickKids invites applications from qualified pediatric interventional radiologists for one full-time faculty position in the Division of Image Guided Therapy. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. The anticipated start date is June 30, 2026 or shortly thereafter.


Division Overview

The Division of Pediatric Interventional Radiology currently consists of:

  • 5 full-time pediatric body interventional radiologists

  • 2 full-time pediatric interventional neuroradiologists

The division works collaboratively with pediatricians, oncologists, surgeons, and other disciplines as part of the Centre of Image Guided Care, which features:

  • 5 modern image-guided suites, including 3 single-plane and 1 bi-plane angiography equipment

  • Dedicated high-resolution ultrasound systems

  • 3T Interventional/Intra-operative MRI

The candidate will:

  • Provide pediatric interventional services and high-quality clinical care

  • Participate collaboratively with other department and hospital staff

  • Provide on-call services and conduct patient rounds

  • Actively participate in academic endeavors, with opportunities for collaborative and individual research and protected academic time


Qualifications

Required:

  • MD or equivalent

  • Eligibility for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or international equivalent

  • Fellowship and clinical experience in body Pediatric Interventional Radiology and Interventional Oncology

  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)

  • Proficiency in English

Preferred / Advantageous:

  • Experience with image-guided tumor ablation, musculoskeletal interventions, hepato-biliary interventions (e.g., liver transplants), vascular anomalies, and MRI-guided interventions

  • Staff experience as a Pediatric Interventional Radiologist

  • Solid research background in Pediatric Interventional Radiology

  • Collaborative, inter- and intra-disciplinary team player with high professional values


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, approximately $434,160 – $543,000 CAD (uniform average salary of a Radiologist)

  • Option to purchase health and dental insurance through group practice plan

  • Additional incentive for extended and on-call hours for complex interventional procedures

  • Medical, Dental, Vision Care, Life Group Insurance, Disability Insurance, Pension contributions

  • Relocation package if eligible
