Position Overview

The Department of Statistics at Purdue University seeks three Visiting Assistant Professors for the 2026–2027 academic year. These positions focus on teaching excellence across a broad spectrum of statistical topics, including:

  • Theoretical, methodological, computational, and applied statistics

  • Probability and data science

  • Computational finance and actuarial science

  • Machine learning and AI

  • Spatial and environmental statistics

  • Statistical genetics and genomics

The College of Science has made significant investments in data science, and the Department provides highly competitive start-up packages for faculty in Statistics.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field

  • Commitment to teaching excellence

  • Ability to work in the U.S. without Purdue immigration sponsorship
