Description

Applications are sought for a full-time Assistant Project Scientist position. The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary research team in the laboratory of Dr. Aparna Bhaduri in the UCLA Department of Biological Chemistry. The focus of the Bhaduri Lab is on neural stem cell fate specification, both in the context of normal human brain development and glioblastoma.

The Bhaduri Lab works extensively with primary human tissue, cortical organoids, single-cell RNA-sequencing, and other bulk and single-cell -omics technologies. The ideal candidate will have an interest in pursuing a project in one or both of these biological focus areas, will be motivated to learn and implement a variety of cutting-edge computational and experimental techniques, and will be excited to work with and develop teams within the lab.

A successful candidate(s) will have the following qualifications:
• PhD in a Biological or Computational Discipline
• Ability to work in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
• Experience conducting cutting-edge neurodevelopmental or cancer biology research
• A successful track record of mentoring graduate and undergraduate students
