The Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology the University of California, Los Angeles, seeks applicants for an Assistant Project Scientist position. The candidate must hold a PhD in a biology-related field and additional training in multiomics systems analyses on model organisms. The candidate must have at least three years of research experience beyond the PhD, with demonstrated ability to conduct and publish high-level research on genetic and environmental factors that contribute to complex diseases and brain-body communications. Familiarity with issues pertaining to environmental exposure and interactions between environment and host genomics is strongly desired. Extensive knowledge and expertise with rodent models, treatment of models with environmental challenges, DNA/RNA extraction and quantification, library preparation (DNA/RNA libraries, RNA-Seq, scRNAseq, and reduced representation bisulfite sequencing (RRBS)) and sequence-based analyses (PCA, differential expression, multi-omics integration, pathway analysis, network analysis) are required.
