Position description

The Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology is recruiting for a Project Scientist at the Assistant level. The candidate will work on the development of nanoparticle vectors for clinical applications including vaccines and genome editing. These nonviral vectors will be used to achieve highly effective vaccination and enable CRISPR-Cas9-mediated genome editing to treat genetic diseases, e.g., X-Linked Retinoschisis (XLRS) and hemophilia. The candidate will also be expected to help supervise graduate students and undergraduate students in the lab.

Requirements for the position: PhD in organic/polymer chemistry and/or materials science. Previous experience with nanoparticle vectors, bioconjugation, controlled release, gene therapy and/or drug delivery is highly desirable.
