The Department of Germanic, Russian, and East European Languages and Literatures at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey (New Brunswick, NJ) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor of German (NTT, 5-year renewable; teaching load 3-3).

The successful candidate will be expected to design and implement innovative language courses at all levels (traditional and hybrid); supervise graduate teaching assistants and offer courses in teaching methodology at the graduate level (Teaching Apprenticeship in German); and teach a wide range of undergraduate courses (including Introduction to German Studies, Introduction to Literary and Cultural Analysis, Topics in Critical Issues in German Studies, German Theater, and The Nazi Period in Film).

Minimum Education and Experience

Requirements: Ph.D. in German Studies; demonstrated excellence in language teaching; native or near-native proficiency in German and English.
