The TRU School of Education seeks to fill a full-time bipartite tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor or preferably a tenured position at the rank of Associate Teaching Professor. We are looking for education scholars specializing in Early Childhood Education (ECE). We are looking for education scholars who will be able to teach in our Diploma and two Post-Diploma Certificate Programs (Infant Toddler Educator and Special Needs Educator). Strong candidates will have expertise and experience in teaching core courses in an Early Childhood Education Diploma, Infant and Toddler Post-diploma certificate and Special Needs post-diploma certificate in the following subject areas: Programming/Curriculum courses, Interpersonal Relations, and Pedagogical Narrations. Of particular interest are those who have successful experience working collaboratively with ECE faculty to support ECE students in planning and implementing innovative educational programs for young children. Experience mentoring and evaluating student progress in on-site and community based practica and liaising with community educators regarding student progress is significantly valued. A disposition toward inquiry and communicative teaching and learning, with knowledge of current curriculum developments, BC Early Learning Framework, and pedagogical approaches in early childhood is desirable. In addition, we seek individuals who are keen to take on leadership roles within the School of Education. In addition, successful experience in course and program development is an asset. Bipartite positions entail teaching and service. It is expected that service to the School of Education, TRU, and the broader community is greeted with enthusiasm and an ongoing, sustained commitment to substantial committee work and other leadership opportunities, including program coordination.
