Position Overview

The Finance Division at the Leeds School of Business invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor in Personal Financial Planning (PFP). This non-tenure track position will begin in Spring 2026 or Fall 2026, and involves teaching within a CFP Board registered program and supporting the continued development and visibility of the PFP Program.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach seven courses per academic year at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including summer offerings.

  • Collaborate with Leeds Centers and divisions for curriculum development.

  • Contribute to PFP Program initiatives such as:

    • Curriculum and course development

    • Student recruitment and mentoring

    • Community outreach

    • Experiential learning coordination

Salary & Appointment

  • Assistant Teaching Professor: $133,000 – $140,000

  • Associate Teaching Professor: $140,000 – $146,000

  • Full-time (100%) multi-year contract

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s, Ph.D., J.D., or Ed.D. in Personal Financial Planning, Finance, Consumer/Family Economics, or related field

  • Relevant professional experience in personal finance or wealth management

  • Documented teaching effectiveness in PFP courses

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • For the Assistant level: potential for leadership and growth

  • For the Associate level: demonstrated leadership, program development, and documented teaching experience in a CFP Board registered program


Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification (e.g. CFP®, ChFC®, CFA, PFS)

  • Experience in a CFP Board-registered education program

  • Experience mentoring students in financial services

  • Active membership in relevant professional organizations

  • Experience in community engagement and alumni relations
