Job Description
The Department of Food Science at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Food Science. The department seeks to attract outstanding candidates with strong research profiles and internationally recognized scholarly achievements. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Food processing and advanced food manufacturing technologies Food packaging and sustainable packaging systems Food engineering and process optimization Food formulation and product development Food proteomics Food metabolomics and advanced analytical technologies in food systems The successful candidate is expected to establish and lead a strong, internationally competitive research program aligned with UAEU’s strategic priorities in food innovation, food security, and sustainable food systems. The candidate should demonstrate a high h-index relative to career stage and maintain an active record of high-impact publications during the last three years. Key responsibilities include: Conducting innovative and impactful research and publishing in leading peer-reviewed journals. Securing competitive external research funding and leading collaborative research projects. Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in food science and related disciplines. Supervising MSc and PhD students and contributing to graduate program development. Participating in curriculum development, program accreditation, and academic quality assurance activities. Contributing to departmental, college, and university administrative services, including committee work and academic advising. Establishing strong collaborations with industry, government entities, and international research institutions.
Minimum Qualification
PhD in Food Science or a closely related field. Strong publication record in reputable indexed journals. Evidence of active research productivity within the past three years. Experience in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Ability to supervise graduate students.
Preferred Qualification
Specialization in food processing, food packaging, food engineering, food formulation, food proteomics, or food metabolomics. High h-index and strong citation record relative to career stage. Demonstrated success in securing research funding. Experience with advanced analytical tools and omics technologies applied to food systems. Strong international research collaborations and interdisciplinary research experience.

Active publication record in the past three years. Associate Professor: Established researcher with sustained research productivity and strong international publication record. Required Skills: Expertise in advanced food processing, food engineering systems, packaging technologies, or omics-based food analysis. Strong experimental design, analytical, and statistical analysis skills. Excellent communication and teaching skills in English. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary research teams.
