The Department of Geography is the second largest geography department in the Czech Republic. It conducts multidisciplinary research and teaching activities in:
- human geography
- physical geography
- geoinformatics
- geographic cartography
The department participates in numerous research projects, grant programmes, and applied projects.
Job Description
- Teaching and supervision of students in Czech and English within undergraduate and graduate courses focused on social geography, with specialization in:
- urban studies
- socio-spatial inequalities
- transformations of cities and regions
- environmental change
- sustainable development
- Research and project activities in social geography and urban studies focusing on:
- socio-spatial processes
- institutional frameworks
- urban and regional development policies
- Development of an independent research agenda, including:
- building a research team
- collaboration with existing research groups on topics such as:
- spatiotemporal mobility
- disability and accessibility
- climate change
Skills and Qualifications
- PhD in social geography, urban studies, sociology, or a related field
- Publication record corresponding to the level of an established researcher (R3), ideally with international impact
- Proficiency in Czech and English, both spoken and written
- Experience in research and/or applied projects
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness and ability to contribute to departmental activities and development of study programmes
