Job Description

The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in the fields related to Public Administration and/or Public Policy. Qualified candidates will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. Candidates are expected to demonstrate expertise in the above-mentioned fields, supported by strong quantitative and/or qualitative research skills. Preference will be given to candidates whose research and teaching interests align with one or more of the following areas: public management, public policy analysis, governance, public sector reform, human resource management in the public sector, public service delivery, or comparative and international public administration. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence, student advising, and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as a clear and sustainable research agenda. Successful candidates should demonstrate the capacity to publish in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals and to develop and complete internally and/or externally funded research projects. The successful candidate must also demonstrate a strong sense of professional responsibility, collegiality, and reliability. This includes the ability to work effectively as part of a team, contribute constructively to departmental and college initiatives, and actively participate in ad hoc taskforces, committees, and program-level responsibilities. Candidates should show evidence of consistent follow-through, respect for shared department and college level goals, and a willingness to support collective academic goals in a timely and professional manner. The successful candidate is expected to contribute positively to the academic culture of the Department and to actively support the growth and development of the United Arab Emirates University. Minimum Qualification

Applicants must hold a PhD in Political Science preferably in Public Administration and/or Public Policy, a closely related field from an accredited institution. The ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in the above-mentioned fields is required.

Preferred Qualification

A PhD in Public Administration and/or Public Policy or a closely related field in Political Science from an accredited and reputable university awarded through full-time doctoral study. Demonstrated potential for a strong and continuous research trajectory, including publications in Scopus-indexed journals or equivalent outlets. Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and supervising student research. Strong theoretical knowledge and applied skills in public administration or related subjects, excellent command of written and spoken English, and demonstrated experience or strong interest in program development, curriculum design, institutional service, and committee work at the department, college, university, and community levels.
