Description:

The Toronto Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) at University Health Network, Sinai Health System, and Women's College Hospital, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, is recruiting an academic full-time Abdominal Radiologist.  The anticipated start date is as soon as possible, preferably by January 2024 or flexible, as mutually agreed. 


The JDMI operates across the following Institutions: Toronto General and Toronto Western Hospitals, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (collectively known as University Health Network, “UHN”), Sinai Health System and Women’s College Hospital. Collectively, there is a wide spectrum of clinical activities including supra-regional services in Liver and Kidney Transplantation, Oncology, etc. There is no dedicated trauma unit. 


There is an install base of 19 MDCT and 12 MRI units, including dedicated research units. The abdominal workload per annum is as follows: ultrasound 125,000 CT 70,000, MR 11,000, biopsies 2,000. The successful candidate will join a team of approximately 34 Faculty/Staff and 14 Fellows in the Abdominal Division.


Candidates must hold an MD degree or equivalent and be a board-certified Radiologist.  Prior dedicated fellowship training is required, and the candidate must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario. The position will include clinical and research components; the successful applicant will be eligible to apply for protected research time. Teaching will be integrated within the clinical and research aspects of the job description. A strong academic/research background or a strong interest to build an academic/research portfolio is considered a plus. 


The successful candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto.  Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications.  This is a full-time position for 45 hours per week. The successful candidate is anticipated to join the Radiologist professional practice plan of the Department, and will have the option of purchasing health and dental insurance through the group practice plan.
