GRM Program Leader - US23 Education Abroad
The Department of Linguistics, Languages, and Cultures at Michigan State University is seeking a one-time program leader for the summer study abroad program: German Language and Culture in Mayen. This is a short-term fixed-term assistant/associate/full professor position for Summer Semester I 2023, with duties beginning May 16, 2023, and ending June 9, 2023.
Responsibilities include teaching intermediate/advanced German language and culture in the immersive context of life in a small town in Germany; organizing and leading half- and full-day excursions in the region; managing relations with the local support staff and host families in Mayen; overseeing and mentoring a graduate assistant and co-instructor; managing the program budget; attending pre-departure orientation meetings in the summer semester. This position runs through the third week of a six-week program and is shared with another program director.
Position is planned to recur every Summer Semester.

Doctorate -German Studies
● Proven record of excellence in teaching German language and culture courses.
● Expert language proficiency in German and English.
● Experience in leading education abroad programs.
● Experience in supervising and mentoring graduate students and co-instructors.
● Team-working skills.
